Brookfield Equestrian Partnership Announced for 2026

Bicton Arena is pleased to announce a new partnership with Brookfield Equestrian for the 2026 season, which will see them sponsor two significant young horse awards at the Bicton May International Horse Trials

As part of the agreement, Brookfield Equestrian will sponsor:

  • The Highest Placed 6- or 7-Year-Old in the CCI2*-L
  • The Highest Placed 7- or 8-Year-Old in the CCI3*-L

The sponsorship reflects a shared commitment to progressive production and the development of young event horses competing on the international stage.

The initiative is made in memory of Brian Lusk, who sourced all of the Brookfield event horses and passed away in 2025. His expertise in identifying young talent and his belief in giving horses the correct foundations remain central to the Brookfield ethos.

Chloe Perry and Alison Swinburn of Brookfield Equestrian said:

“We know first-hand how important the early years are in a horse’s career. The Young Horse classes at Bicton provide invaluable experience and exposure in a setting that encourages confidence and correct production.

Supporting young horses at this stage is something we feel strongly about, they are the future of our sport. Providing them with the right opportunities, atmosphere and platform to grow is vital, and Bicton offers exactly that.

This sponsorship is also deeply personal to us. We are supporting these classes in memory of Brian Lusk, who sourced all of the Brookfield event horses and played such a pivotal role in building our team. Brian had an exceptional eye for young talent and believed wholeheartedly in giving horses the right start. We sadly lost him in 2025, and honouring his legacy by supporting the next generation of event horses feels incredibly fitting.

Sponsoring these awards reflects our commitment to developing horses thoughtfully and giving them the best possible foundation for the future.”

Helen West, Co-Director of Bicton Arena, added:

“I am passionate about the progressive production of young horses, which formed a significant part of my riding career. I am incredibly proud that we are now able to recognise and reward the young equine superstars competing at the Bicton May International Horse Trials.

I am extremely grateful to Brookfield Equestrian for sharing my vision and supporting this exciting new opportunity, which highlights our shared commitment to developing young horses and investing in the future of the sport.”

The 2026 Bicton May International Horse Trials will once again provide a key platform for emerging equine talent, with the Brookfield Equestrian awards further strengthening recognition for the sport’s next generation.
